Sell Lemons Beginner Guide
Everything a new player needs to know — from your first lemon to your first Ascend. Follow this guide and you'll be earning billions in no time.

Getting Started
When you first join Sell Lemons, you'll spawn near an empty lemon stand. Walk up to the stand and start clicking to produce lemons — visitors will buy them automatically. Your first goal is to earn enough cash to start upgrading.

Your First Upgrades (Priority Order)
1. Juicer
Increases lemon production speed. Buy every level available — this is your most important early upgrade.
2. Cup Stand
Adds cups to your stand, increasing sell price. Unlocks new customers.
3. Stand Automator
Automates lemon production at the stand. Frees you up to explore and unlock new features.
4. 2x Stand Cash
Doubles your stand income. Stack with other multipliers for exponential growth.
5. Lemon Dash
Unlocks the delivery mini-game with independent phone orders. Another income stream.
⚠️ Decoration Gates — Don't Skip Cosmetics!
Many upgrade buttons are hidden behind decoration purchases. If you notice your progression stalling and can't find new upgrades, check if there's a decoration (wall, roof, floor) you haven't bought yet. Purchasing these reveals hidden upgrade buttons. This is one of the most common beginner mistakes!
NPC Deals — Answer Your Phone!
Every 3-5 minutes, an NPC will call your in-game phone with a deal. You'll see three options: Accept, Raise, or Decline. Alien NPCs (introduced by 'Joe the Alien') offer multiplier-based deals (300-500%+ bonuses) that are almost always worth accepting. Investor NPCs give fixed cash and occasionally Cosmic Cash. Don't ignore these — they add up significantly over time.
Reaching Your First Ascend
Your first Ascend typically takes 15-30 minutes. When you see the Ascend button become available, go ahead and click it. Ascending resets all your buildings but gives you a permanent income multiplier. This multiplier compounds — your second Ascend will be much faster than your first, and by the 10th Ascend, you'll be Ascending every few minutes. Don't wait too long to Ascend — the sooner you start stacking multipliers, the faster your overall progression.
Common Beginner Mistakes
Skipping decoration purchases and wondering where the upgrades went.
Waiting too long to Ascend. Ascend early and often — the compounding multipliers are the core of progression.
Ignoring Lemon Dash. The delivery mini-game is a significant income source in the early-to-mid game.
Spending Cosmic Cash on temporary Boosts early on. Save it for Sewer Key and endgame items.
Not buying Stand Automator fast enough. Automation is key to freeing up your time for other activities.
Noticing the question mark button (bottom-right) — it highlights all missing upgrades you haven't purchased yet. Use it!
Pro Tips from the Community
Use the question mark button (bottom-right corner) to highlight all missing upgrades. This prevents you from missing hidden buttons.
Upgrade just before a production timer completes — some upgrades apply retroactively to the current batch, giving you an instant boost.
In the Lemon/Orange/Lime Republic zones, you can run for President! Other players can vote automatically, giving you bonuses.
Pick up lemons from trees and money bags scattered around the map. After the Expert Picker power, these become significant supplemental income.
Playing with friends in the same server gives an income bonus. Team up for faster progression!
Sell Lemons has P2W elements (Game Passes), but F2P players can reach full endgame through smart Investor accumulation and Ascend cycling.
