The Sewer Key is a special item in Sell Lemons that grants access to the Sewer Area — a hidden underground zone filled with exclusive rewards, unique NPCs, and bonus income opportunities. It's one of the first major secrets players can unlock in the game.
Requirements
Before you can obtain the Sewer Key, you need two things:
Cosmic Farmer Badge
Earn this badge by accumulating enough Cosmic Cash. It proves you've reached the mid-to-late game and have the resources to explore hidden areas.
Cosmic Cash
You'll need to spend Cosmic Cash to purchase the Sewer Key. Start saving early — don't spend your Cosmic Cash on temporary boosts.
How to Get the Cosmic Farmer Badge
The Cosmic Farmer Badge is earned through consistent Cosmic Cash accumulation. Cosmic Cash starts appearing around Ascend 50 and comes from NPC Deals and Ascend rewards. The badge is a milestone that confirms you've engaged with the game's deeper systems. Keep ascending, answer NPC phone calls, and the badge will unlock naturally.
Step-by-Step: Getting the Sewer Key
Reach Ascend 50+ to start earning Cosmic Cash consistently.
Accept all NPC Deals, especially from Alien NPCs who sometimes offer Cosmic Cash bonuses.
Do NOT spend Cosmic Cash on temporary income boosts — save every unit.
Once you have enough Cosmic Cash and the Cosmic Farmer Badge, locate the Sewer Key purchase point.
Buy the Sewer Key and head to the Sewer Area entrance.
What's Inside the Sewer Area?
The Sewer Area is a hidden zone with unique visual themes, special NPCs, and bonus income opportunities not available in the main game area. Inside, you'll find a lever puzzle that must be solved to progress further. ⭐ A key reward is the Cosmic Cash Rain — a massive instant cash bonus that drops when you enter. Exploring it thoroughly can yield significant rewards and is required to unlock the UFO Key and Good Samaritan Badge.
Sewer Lever Puzzle Solution (7 Steps)
Inside the Sewer Area, you'll encounter a lever puzzle with colored levers. Here's the exact sequence to solve it (verified by FFBooyah and ItzVexo, June 2026):
The sequence MUST be followed exactly in order. Skipping or doing steps out of order will not work.
Steps 4 and 5 require UNPULLING (turning OFF) levers that were previously pulled — don't skip these!
After solving the puzzle, you'll unlock access to the next area which leads to the UFO Key quest line.
Tips & Warnings
Save your Cosmic Cash — the Sewer Key is expensive, and you'll need more for other endgame items like the UFO Key.
Don't rush for the Sewer Key before Ascend 50. Focus on building multipliers first.
Once inside the Sewer Area, explore every corner — some rewards are easy to miss.
Always answer NPC phone calls. Even small Cosmic Cash amounts add up over dozens of Ascends.
After solving the lever puzzle, talk to the stranger (alien NPC) inside the Sewer — this is required for the Good Samaritan Badge!
