What is the Sewer Maze?
The Sewer Maze refers to the lever puzzle inside the Sewer Area — a hidden underground zone unlocked with the Sewer Key. Players must pull colored levers in the correct sequence to solve the puzzle. This is NOT a separate game mode — it's the core challenge within the Sewer Area that gates progress to the UFO Key quest chain and the Good Samaritan Badge. Completing it is essential for mid-to-late game progression.
Before You Enter the Maze
You need these before attempting the Sewer Maze:
Sewer Key
Purchase the Sewer Key with Cosmic Cash after earning the Cosmic Farmer Badge. This grants access to the entire Sewer Area.
Cosmic Farmer Badge
Earned through consistent Cosmic Cash accumulation around Ascend 50+. Required to purchase the Sewer Key.
Maze Overview
Inside the Sewer Area, you'll find a room with four colored levers: Blue, Red, Green, and Purple. The puzzle requires pulling and unpulling these levers in an exact 7-step sequence. There is no time limit, but the order must be precise — any mistake means starting over. The maze environment is dark and maze-like, with the lever room as the central challenge.

The sequence MUST be followed exactly in order. Skipping or rearranging steps will not work.
Steps 4 and 5 require UNPULLING (turning OFF) levers that were previously pulled. These are the most commonly missed steps!
There is no time limit — take your time to verify each step before proceeding.
If you make a mistake, you can reset the puzzle by leaving and re-entering the lever room.
After Solving the Maze
Once you've solved the lever puzzle, a new path opens. Here's what to do next:
The maze door opens, revealing a hidden chamber deeper inside the Sewer Area.
You'll find a mysterious stranger — an alien NPC waiting inside the chamber.
Talk to the alien stranger to receive the Good Samaritan Badge ("Help the sewer stranger").
The alien then reveals the UFO Key quest — your next major objective.
Follow the UFO Key route to the UFO Area and permanently double your Investor Bonus from 1% to 2%.

Tips & Common Mistakes
Make sure you have the Sewer Key before heading to the Sewer Area entrance — you can't enter without it.
Don't forget to collect the Cosmic Cash Rain when you first enter the Sewer Area — it's a massive instant cash bonus!
Explore the entire Sewer Area, not just the lever room. There are bonus rewards in side corridors.
You MUST talk to the alien stranger after the puzzle — the Good Samaritan Badge doesn't unlock automatically.
The UFO Key at the end of this chain permanently doubles your Investor Bonus (1% → 2%). This is one of the most powerful upgrades in the game.
