What is Evolution?
Evolution is a meta-progression system in Sell Lemons that persists across all Ascends. When you evolve, your fruit changes entirely — from Lemon to Orange, then Orange to Lime — and each evolution grants a massive 42x income speed multiplier. Evolution progress is tied to your Investor count: the more investors you have, the faster you evolve. Unlike Ascend which resets buildings, Evolution directly improves your base stats and changes your entire visual theme while maintaining the same 8 income source structure (Stand, Dash, Depot, Trading, Labs, Robotics, Republic, X).
Fruit Evolution Chain
Each evolution transforms your fruit and unlocks a new visual theme with a 42x income speed multiplier:
🍋 Lemon (Stage 1)
Your starting fruit. Build your Lemon Stand, unlock Lemon Dash, and progress through all 8 income sources. The Lemon stage is where you learn the core game loop and establish your first Ascend cycles.
🍊 Orange (Stage 2)
After your first Evolution, lemons become oranges! All income sources get the Orange prefix (Orange Stand, Orange Dash, ... Orange X on the Moon). The 42x speed multiplier makes everything dramatically faster. Reaching Orange X on the Moon is the Endgame milestone.
🟢 Lime (Stage 3)
The third evolution fruit, confirmed June 2026! All income sources become Lime-themed (Lime Stand through Lime X). This is the current highest confirmed evolution stage. Requires Evolution 6+ and trevigintillion-level cash and investors.

Evolution Thresholds
The cost to evolve increases with each stage:
First Evolution (Lemon → Orange): Requires around 50-100 octodecillion in total investment value.
Second Evolution (Orange → Lime): Requires reaching Evolution 6 and trevigintillion-level cash and investors.
Each Investor gives 1% cash bonus (UFO Key → 2%). The more investors you accumulate, the faster your Evolution progress.
Every Evolution maintains the same 8 income source structure: Stand → Dash → Depot → Trading → Labs → Robotics → Republic → X (Moon).
Evolution vs Pure Ascend
A common question is whether to focus on Evolution or pure Ascend cycles. The answer: both. Evolution and Ascend multiply each other's effects. Players who invest in Evolution alongside Ascend progress significantly faster than those who focus on either system alone. Evolution provides the 42x base speed improvement per stage, while Ascend provides the compounding income multipliers. Together, they create exponential growth. The recommended split is 80-90% Ascend optimization and 10-20% Evolution investment.
